Donut Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of flour 0000 (normal or all-purpose).
- 2 eggs.
- 400 ml of warm water.
- 120 g of sugar.
- 50 g fresh yeast (or 10 g dry yeast).
- 50 g of margarine.
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence.
- Zest of 1 lemon.
Instructions:

Dough preparation:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour with the yeast.
- Add the eggs, sugar, margarine, vanilla essence and lemon zest.
- Add the warm water little by little while kneading the dough until it is smooth and homogeneous.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Formed donuts:
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is approximately 1 cm thick.
- Using a round cutter, cut out circles of dough.
- Make a hole in the center of each circle to form the donuts.
- Place the donuts on a floured tray and let them rest again for about 30 minutes.

Frying:
- Heat plenty of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the donuts in batches, turning so they brown evenly.
- Remove the donuts with a slotted spoon and place them on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.

Coverage:
- You can dust the donuts with powdered sugar or dip them in chocolate or vanilla glaze.
